BALLINTUBBERT HOUSE & GARDENS
CO. LAOIS, IRELAND
We realize Ireland is a big distance to travel for many and we want to ensure you have the best trip across the pond. The festivities begin on Thursday (September 5th) at 7pm so you should plan arriving to Portlaoise town late afternoon / early evening. Dublin is a wonderful city to explore and is ~1 hour from Portlaoise. We have recommended some hotels if you plan to spend a night or 2 in Dublin before or after the wedding. The Irish ‘Day 2’ will run late so you should plan check out and onward travel no earlier than Sunday, September 8th, if possible.

The best airport to fly into is Dublin International Airport. If you are planning to travel in the west coast of Ireland, Shannon is another option to consider
Dublin airport is ~20 minute drive from City Center, and an hour drive to Ballintubbert (the location of the wedding on Friday Sept. 6th) and Portlaoise (where hotel is located)
We recommend staying at least one night in Dublin if your travel plans permit

Ballintubbert house is approx. 1 hour from Dublin airport and the city center.
If you are renting a car - be aware drivers are on the opposite side of the road from the US. Roundabouts are also very common in Ireland, talk to Rich if you are nervous about driving over there
Not ready to tackle the Irish roads? All good. The irish rail (Link Here) runs a direct train every hour that will take you from Dublin to Athy (Link here), where you can grab a five minute taxi to the venue.
Taxis from Dublin City Center to Ballintubbert should cost ~€150-200 which is good option if you can pool.
